About

Tricia's career started in 1977 after earning her B.F.A. in Painting from Wayne State University.  Her breakout year included shows at the Scarab Club and Detroit Artist's Market, two of the cities most prominent venues for emerging artists.

Since then, Tricia has exhibited expansively across the Metro Detroit Area, New York City and most recently in Denver, Colorado at the D'art Gallery where she is a member artist.

Her interest in printmaking began in 2011 after taking a class at The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.  She is well known for her monotype techniques and incorporating elements of the local landscape and vistas encountered while traveling.

Tricia was a graphic designer and event coordinator for Aon Corporation for 25+ years.  After retiring from corporate life in 2021, she moved with her husband to Colorado Springs and became a member of the Manitou Art Center where she takes advantage of their printing press to begin her work. The monotypes are further developed in her home studio in Colorado Springs.

My Process

Known as the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques, a monotype is essentially a hand-printed painting. The appeal of the monotype lies in its unique translucency that creates a quality of light very different from a painting. The spontaneity of mark-making and layering of printing inks creates a surface that is unlike any other art.
